3 Mindset Shifts that elevated a flat week!

Not every week is a breakthrough week.

Sometimes you don't feel inspired. Sometimes you don't feel particularly productive. Sometimes you find yourself staring at your to-do list wondering why everyone else seems to have their life together while you're contemplating a second coffee and a nap.

This week wasn't a bad week.

Nothing catastrophic happened.

But I could feel myself slipping into old patterns of thinking.

You know the ones...

"It should be further along than this."

"I should be doing more."

"It's not enough."

The funny thing about mindset work is that it doesn't stop once you've read the books, listened to the podcasts, or created a vision board.

Mindset work happens in the ordinary moments.

The moments where you catch yourself thinking in a way that isn't serving you and choose a different perspective.

These are the three mindset shifts that completely changed my week

1. Am I Focusing on the Gap or the Gain?

This concept comes from my Mentor Kathleen Cameron , and every time I revisit it, it hits me right between the eyes.

The Gap is where most people live.

It's focusing on everything you haven't achieved yet.

Everything that's missing.

Everything that's taking longer than expected.

It's comparing where you are today to where you think you should be.

And honestly?

It's a miserable place to live.

The Gap sounds like:

"I've only got 500 subscribers."

"I've only sold a handful of courses."

"I'm not where I want to be."

The Gain sounds different.

The Gain asks:

How far have I come?

What have I learned?

What progress have I made?

What evidence do I have that things are moving forward?

When I look at my own journey, the Gain reminds me that I went from being a woman who had lost her confidence after a life-changing accident to launching my own business, creating a podcast, building a YouTube channel, writing a book, speaking on stages and helping people transform the way they see themselves.

That's not lack.

That's progress.

And progress is magnetic.

The moment I shifted my focus from what was missing to what was growing, my energy changed.

2. You Are Allowed to Be More Than One Thing

This week I was listening to a podcast by Alexandra Ninfo, and she shared something that made me stop in my tracks.

You don't have to fit into one box.

Simple.

But powerful.

So many people spend their lives trying to become easier to understand.

Easier to categorise.

Easier for other people to accept.

But humans aren't designed to fit into neat little labels.

For example...

I'm a corporate professional.

I'm also the founder of The Mindset Model.

I'm a presenter.

A model.

An aspiring author.

A wildlife enthusiast.

A bird-watching nerd.

A woman who loves mindset and personal development.

A woman who occasionally posts glamorous photos online.

And do you know what?

All of those things are true.

None of them cancel each other out.

The most magnetic people I've ever met aren't one-dimensional.

They give themselves permission to be fully expressed.

The freedom comes when you stop asking, "Which version of me should I be?" and start asking, "What if all of these things are me?"

Because they are.

3. The Marilyn Monroe Effect

One of my favourite stories is about Marilyn Monroe.

The story goes that she was walking through New York with a friend. Nobody recognised her.

She was dressed simply. Walking normally.

To everyone around her, she was just another woman walking down the street.

Then she turned to her friend and said something along the lines of:

"Do you want to see me become her?"

And she switched.

She changed her posture.

Her energy.

Her self-image.

And within moments people started recognising her.

Crowds began gathering.

People wanted photographs.

Now whether every detail of that story is perfectly accurate isn't really the point.

The lesson is.

Your energy matters.

The version of you that you identify with matters.

Your self-image influences how you show up, how you communicate, how you carry yourself and how other people respond to you.

Most people think confidence comes first.

But confidence is often the result of a self-image shift.

You don't become confident and then show up differently.

You start showing up differently and confidence follows.

The Real Transformation

The biggest lesson from this week?

Nothing external needed to change.

My circumstances didn't suddenly become perfect.

My goals didn't instantly arrive.

The transformation happened because my perspective shifted.

I moved from lack to gratitude.

From limitation to expansion.

From trying to fit into one identity to embracing all of who I am.

And that's exactly why I'm so excited about what's coming next.

Over the last few months I've been developing something that brings together everything I've learned about confidence, identity and self-image.

✨ The Mindset Model Self-Image Method ✨

Launching this October, this seminar is designed to help you transform the relationship you have with yourself, because every result in your life starts with the way you see yourself.

Your self-image shapes your confidence.

Your confidence shapes your actions.

And your actions shape your future.

So before you move on with your day, I'd love you to reflect on these three questions:

🌿 Are you focusing on the Gap or the Gain?

🌿 Where have you been trying to fit yourself into a box?

🌿 What version of yourself are you ready to embody?

Because the most powerful transformation isn't becoming somebody else.

It's becoming more of who you already are.
